Born and raised in South Carolina, Harriet Gilmer, has a deep roots in the south, but landed in Riverside after a 10 year stretch in New York City where she worked in marketing and promotions at Conde Nast. Now a stay at home mom, Harriet is passionate about volunteering in the community, especially at the schools of her three children. She serves on both the auction committee and green committee at Putnam Indian Field School where she plans the school’s annual Spring Planting Day event. At Riverside Elementary School, she is a member of numerous PTA committees and currently co-chairs both the school’s Fall Fundraiser Silent Auction as well as the Green Committee. Harriet is especially passionate about health, wellness and raising awareness of environmental issues. The other charities she supports include Kids in Crisis and the Greenwich Land Trust. In her spare time, Harriet is an avid runner, reader and novice gardener.
